About the NGO

SOYADO

SOYADO is a Somali NGO with head office in Mogadishu with some field offices in other regions of Somalia Puntland-Garowe, Jubaland Kismayo, Afmadow and Badadhe, Gedo, south west, Baidoa, Cellbarda,Hudur and Hiran & Galgadud . The organization has also liaison offices in Nairobi Kenya. It was established in March 2005 by a group of Somali intellectuals who at that time recognized the need to set up a local none governmental organization (NGO) to promote the humanitarian relief efforts to help the needy people in war-torn regions of the country, following the civil war disaster that had the ravaged the country.

Within Somalia SOYADO’s strategy is to contribute towards the prevention of livelihood deterioration, improvement in livelihood support systems and living standards of pastoralists, agro – pastoralists and other vulnerable groups in the region. SOYADO has a liaison office in Nairobi (Kenya) supporting programmes in Somalia.

SOYADO considers that the most significant economic trends in Somalia are Sustained Agricultural Production, Promotion of social services and development of private sector. These programs will accelerate development of the rural / urban poor areas increase employment opportunities, and reduce morbidity rates of the children.
